The strikes that began this week by temporary workers across Germany are to continue into Thursday and beyond. This has seen delays to flights, and it has crippled public transportation across Germany, in particular; the bus services.
It was reported that ground personnel at airports in Düsseldorf and Cologne walked off their posts as the morning shift began. As of yet no flight cancellations were reported. However, the public workers' union Verdi did predict that there would be significant delays as the day wore on.
All across Germany, workers in the public sector; from childcare to refuse collection to employment agencies have all united and shown their solidarity in the ongoing wage dispute. Register to read more... |
